I have two pairs the evolv s are my general comfy shoe for some quick and easy work of things and my favorite pair so far have been the 5.10 5x. The 5.10s have been an awesome shoe and you can never go bad with the stealth c4 rubber.

Anybody in the Northern California area want to compete in a small climbing comp? We have a group of a dozen or so really tight climbing walls. My friend and I are opening a gym in the area and are trying to rasie awareness of the sport. I also need some forerunners for our routesetting.

I’ve got a friend who does online articles for different outdoor/mountaineering/climbing companies, and he really likes his. He says its firm enough to catch but soft enough to not break anything. He loves it.

Not going to recommend a pair, every foot is different. I will recommend a trip to LakesClimber in Ambleside though, the staff there couldn’t do enough for me, really took the time to help fit my shoe … must have tried on about 15 pairs!

Saul, I’m not in Sheffield, I’m from Uttoxeter to the south of the Peaks. I have a bit of experience but nothing much! I have my own gear for bouldering (mat, chalk, rock shoes, guide books) and also access to a shed load of leading gear if need be. Im most interested in bouldering at the moment, if you are happy with a novice (a dedicated one) then we should meet up! I’m free most weekends, and want to go after work aswell but with the nights drawing in that might not be that possible.

Went the Roaches today, was the only person their, fell asleep on my mat!

this is another late post.
But ive asked around for my shoes and they tell me the exact same answer; It doesnt matter what the rubber is like, the material is flexible enough, its how they feel on your feet.
Best to look around again for a good pair, maybe the old ones are a good fit. Go wit the same make?
