Woah! That’s very thorough! Thanks for taking the time to post up your suggestions. I’ll go over them with Grant at some point so we can get an idea of the things we’ll change, and how we’ll change them. I have a couple of responses for a few of your points straight away though:

The buttons on the left are ment to obscure the line.

I agree – the climb creation process needs streamlining, so we’re going to be looking at that soon.

You can actually edit others climbs (view the climb, then click the edit tab on the top-right) – though this probably needs making clearer.

Thanks for your feedback. If you have any more, it’d be greatfully received.

when you scroll over a number on the map allow it to create a pop up window of statics of the area, like a graph of the area’s quantity of climbs and their difficulty

a list of things that need to be fixed

when you scroll over buttons on the left the faded grey vertical line disapears,

there is no way to create multiple climbs in one area, I would suggest a format that once you fill the information of one climb it automatically provides the blank space for the next climb

as far as converting grades that is way to complex, things need to be stupidly simple

aesthetically I would suggest reducing how many sharp corners there, round the edges of teh boxes to visually be less jarring on the web site.

and something is to complex in the climb posting process, perhaps think about the order of interaction. for instance clicking location with the mouse and then selecting a grade with the mouse and then typing details, people would only have to transition from the mouse to keyboard once allowing them an easier time posting more climbs

and providing a way to edit each post by others, eg. adding a photo or editing the grade.

sorry I’m so opinionated

Hey everyone, my best friend and I are starting a bouldering gym. In addition to our gym, we are going to offer a bunch of other services like step by step processes to building your own wall, excercises to build strength and flexibility, how to build a work out room targetin a climbing workout, as well as equipment reviews. We are starting as soon as we can, please send me your opinions and ideas, what works for you and what doesn’t. We’ll include you on the website as soon as it’s up. here’s my email… mmoseley78@gmail.com

RE: Ability to identify areas rather than climbs

Bouldr does work like this, however, to get there we need the climbs to be added – the search in the top-right of the explorer will let you drill down.

I’ve added your suggestion to our list, and we’ll take a look into ways in which we can improve this aspect. Maybe we could generate regions for the map or suggest locations nearby…

Cheers!

Ability to identify areas rather than climbs

I found the site advertised on Facebook and it looks great.

It would be good to be able to identify an area and then have a general climbing guide or link to area guide. For instance there are 1000’s of climbs in Snowdonia and an area guide would be great. Then possibly broken down into sub areas and then individual climbs.

Thanks

Photo not loading on Explorer

I uploaded a photo for a boulder problem some time ago, but in the explorer or in the main page of the site it does not loads, and the text: Sorry! No image for this climb (yet)!; appears.

In the time I uploaded I thought it was OK because Matt could approve it or something else, but since it’s there some time now, I think it’s not working properly.

Well, thanks in advance. By the way, it’s the only crag in Brazil.
